It’s the Tall Guy’s birthday. I’m always thrilled for an opportunity to celebrate him. He rocks. We are planning on a birthday evening of baked goods, our favorite local pizza, perhaps a few libations, and some selct gifts.

So, in honor of this special September event, a birthday edition of likes.

Does your family (or your friend-family) have particular birthday traditions? We’re slipping into a tradition of a dinner of choice for the birthday honoree. Then, the adults get parties that go all night that Saturday. And the Little Guy gets a family/friend party on the weekend nearest his birthday.

Peeping in on Rubyellen Bratcher’s family birthday traditions is superfun. Her youngest daughter, Glow, recently turned one and got her first birthday breakfast in bed.

Here’s a fun celebratory banner made with fabric strips and baker’s twine.

If you’re leaning toward birthday breakfast, you could try making your own pancake mix, like ARMommy. As she says, it will make you feel like you live on a farm. “And farms are cool.”

How about a farm party for your kiddo’s next bday? There’s a lovely little photo round-up of this party at Apartment Therapy. I adore the green cake.

Righteous DIY gift boxes.

I leave you with these super festive party hats from the party experts at The Sweetest Occasion.

xoxo, Shannon
